You're here because you're at least a little curious about breaking into tech 👀

But maybe, you don't know where to start or you're not really sure about "what tech is". I know the feeling–I've been where you are before.

Throughout my journey, I shared my wins and failures publicly through content that has helped hundreds of people land tech jobs! Now, I want YOU to have the resources I wish I had when I first got started. In this guide, I'm sharing everything I've learned as a 7-year-old-customer-facing tech veteran!

This guide is here to help you understand what tech is (and the roles within it), how to update your assets, and lastly, how to absolutely knock the interview process out of the park so you can...LAND THE JOB!

This guide is for you if:

  • You're looking to get your first tech job but don't know where to start

  • Have skills but you're not sure how to make it fit for a tech job

  • You're applying to tech jobs but getting nowhere

Here's how this guide will get you there:

Part 1: We're going to start by understanding "What is tech?" This seems basic, but we'll need the context so that everything else makes sense. You'll learn about SaaS (examples and resources included), different stages of companies, different roles in tech and we'll round it out by doing an assessment to help us understand what it is YOU want to do.

Part 2: The second part will focus on finding–the job. I want you to find a job that speaks to you, that makes you excited to do it every day. I'll show you all the possibilities out there and give you techniques to help you do your search. We'll then talk about your assets! I have tips for you on cover letters, resumes, and MORE. The last part of this section will come down to networking —stay with me here— you'll need to start forming relationships that will help you get your dream job. Blindly applying isn't part of the plan.

Part 3: Yayy, you've got an interview. Now what?! This section will tell you everything you need to know about the interview process for customer-facing tech jobs. We'll start with how to properly do research for the interview, questions they'll ask you and vice versa, the task/presentation, and we'll close out with handling discussions about compensation.

I'm sharing 100+ examples, tips, and resources to help you stand out and GET THE JOB! If you're ready to rock, let's do this 🙌

Who am I?

Back in the day, I wanted to be a lawyer because that's what I saw on TV and that's what I thought was going to make me money 😒. Before law school, I was a paralegal, and thank the universe for that because it turns out, I really hated law, and the thought of racking up $200k in loan debt to speak and write like someone from the 1800s did not sit well with me.

To get by, I held many jobs:

  1. Cocktail waitress on a cruise ship

  2. Waitress at a restaurant

  3. Bartender

  4. Odd housekeeping

Honestly, I felt lost and stuck. No real path and 0 experience.

It wasn't until I accidentally ran into something called HTML & CSS (don't worry, you don't need this) while trying to fix a hideous website. Fixing it up led me to a local tech community which then turned into an internship that helped me land my first tech job as a Customer Success Agent for a European tech company.

Then, about 2 years ago, I was struggling to make the switch to a Customer Success role in tech. I kept facing the same rejection "you don't have enough experience."

I started blogging about Customer Success and posting about my journey publicly on LinkedIn.

3 months later, I got the job! I kept blogging, writing more content on LinkedIn and within my first year, I:

  • Was named"top 100 CS strategist"

  • Interviewed on countless podcasts and blogs

  • Had my work featured on Forbes

If that's not a glow up, I don't know what is 😜 So I am here to help you glow up too.
